Marek Poliks,Phd is a theoretical researcher in deep learning and AI, primarily concerned with the autonomy and self-organizing character of technical infrastructure. Marek is Head of AI at LaunchDarkly, leading product, technology, and GTM for AI at one of the world's most impactful contributors to modern software development. His 2025 book in collaboration with Roberto Alonso Trillo, Exocapitalism: Economies with Absolutely No Limits (Becoming Press), has been called the "Das Kapital of the 21st Century" (New Models). Marek holds a PhD from Harvard University. Within the group Marek offers a unique industry perspective while also conducting interviews and developing content for the podcast.
ROBERTO ALONSO TRILLO
Roberto Alonso Trillo, PhD/DMA: is a Hong Kong–based artist, researcher, and theorist whose work engages the aesthetic and political dimensions of machine learning, with particular attention to infrastructure, performance, and human–AI interfaces. Embedded within academia while also leading two small, research-driven ventures, he investigates AI theory, speculative design, and automation as central problems of contemporary cultural production. Within the group, Roberto provides conceptual leadership, shaping research priorities and structuring interdisciplinary collaboration.
HELENA MCFADZEAN
Helena McFadzean is an independent curator and collaborator based in Vienna and Berlin, specializing in transdisciplinary approaches to critical knowledge production. Her curatorial work focuses on the close collaboration with artists and practitioners to develop and facilitate formats that tend towards the parafictional, always considering the underlying infrastructure as material. She joined Disintegrator after sensing an urgent shared knowledge gap while collaborating with a group of artists who work with machine learning. Helena’s practical know-how builds on experience in commercial, independent as well as institutional art sectors, collaborations in artistic research and editorial projects. She is currently completing an MA in Critical Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna.
HUGH SCOTT-DOUGLAS Hugh Scott-Douglas is an interdisciplinary researcher with nearly 15 years of experience in the and art world and culture industry. His work has been the subject of over 60 exhibitions in commercial galleries and public museums and is included in the permanent collections of nearly a dozen major public and private institutions. He is currently working toward his MS at MIT in the ACT program. Within the group Scott-Douglas offers a unique and expert perspective on AI’s influence on artistic and cultural practice as well as overseeing the development of programs and sustainability of the project.
RUBÉN BAÑUELOS Rubén Bañuelos is a percussionist, sound artist, and researcher based in Basel, where he investigates the performance and non-performance of acoustics through hybrid instrument-installations. His work bridges acoustic and electronic media while maintaining a deep commitment to percussion as a foundational medium. His practice interrogates technological autonomy for sound artists and the decentralization of human performativity. Rubén holds master’s degrees from the Musik-Akademie Basel and ESMUC Barcelona.
